Ghia is a higher education specialist with a research focus on employability and skills. She currently serves as an employability consultant with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group. She has over 15 years of experience in education and development, having worked with a number of international organizations (IFC, International Labour Organization, and United Development Programme) and NGOs (including Bedayati, which she co-founded) in Beirut and New York.

Ghia has a PhD in Education from the University of Oxford (DPhil, 2017), and has also studied at Columbia University (Master in International Affairs, 2005) and the American University of Beirut (BA in Political Studies, 2003).
